The Pacifica Friends of the Library is a qualified 501 (c)3 non-profit organization made up of dedicated volunteers who believe in the mission of libraries and their importance to the communities they serve. One of our goals is to promote closer relations between the libraries and the community by advocating the importance of libraries as a vital component of a healthy community and its importance as a resource that is available to all community members across all lines of age, ethnic group, or income level. We raise funds through book sales and other fundraisers to provide assistance in funding for programs, extra materials, staff development, and extra equipment such as the new curtains for the community room. We inform members of issues affecting the library such as the efforts to build a new library. We also sponsor cultural programs and events.
