2024 – January/February– Welcome Julie Smith, new library manager, Book Sale Results, Library Outpost construction, programs that PFOL will be supporting

2024 –March/April– Welcome Spring, Remembering Reba, PFOL issued check for $13,485 to help fund library services such as Youth and Teen Programming, Adult programming, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and staff and volunteer training. Book nook volunteers needed

2024 May/June – June 7/8 Book sale; Sanchez Library Outpost progress continues; San Mateo County Library launches a survey for all Pacificans as part of their Strategic Planning process; June Summer Learning Program; PFOL Annual Elections on June 27th.

2024 July/August – June Book Sale a success! We made $3,700. Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers. Grand Opening of the Sanchez Library Outpost happening on July 23, 3-5 pm. PFOL needs more volunteers to help with book sales, book sorting and Board Member positions.

2024 Sept/Oct – Grand Opening of the new Sanchez Library Outpost, roll-out of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, PFOL is expanding its online presence with a new Instagram account, pacifica_friendsofthelibrary, and a new Facebook page is also being developed.

2024 Nov/Dec– December Book Sale Dec 6 & 7 at Sharp Park Library, volunteers needed, In Memoriam Sharon Lamparter. Science in Action – come see the new tenants at the libraries – a tarantula at Sanchez, and two new hissing Madagascar cockroaches at Sharp Park.

2025 Jan/Feb – Happy New Year! Gung Hay Fat Choy! December Book Sale made $2400. Please consider becoming a board member. Watch for special Chinese New Year events at the libraries.

2025 March/April – Pop Up Fiction Book Sale, Saturday, April 5th, 10:00-4:00. There will be lots to choose from – mystery, romance, military, sci-fi, etc. We need volunteers to help with set-up and take-down. The Library of Things now has blood pressure machines to borrow!! Spanish and Russian story times will be starting in March.

2025 May/June – Spring Book Sale in June

2025 July/Aug Officers elected; June book sale was a success, raising just under $2900. Pacifica Friends are helping to support Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Summer Adventure Program.

2025 Sept/Oct  -Julie Smith, current library manager, is moving to Half Moon Bay Library as their new manager. Open house for new veggie garden. PFOL Board approved budget request for $12,407.00

2025 Nov/Dec – Book sale coming up Dec. 5 & 6. Hillary Ake selected as new Branch Manager for Pacifica Libraries. Find out how to join the PFOL Board of Directors.
